Victoria Phillips

Victoria Phillips is the artist behind The Whimsy Merchant. She is a native of Knoxville, TN but now resides in Atlanta, GA. She earned her B.A. in Visual Art from Lee University and her M.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. Phillips has many creative outlets and as a public school art teacher she gets the opportunity to master each craft. Phillips began making whimsical handmade goods for her friends and family. The passion to create simple yet elegant items for fun began to morph into a creative pursuit. When naming The Whimsy Merchant shop Phillips looked to her heritage. Her maiden name means merchant and she often receives her inspiration for her handmade goods on a whim, thus leading her to the name "The Whimsy Merchant". She uses her multifaceted creative outlets as a way to release negative energy and share a little bit of happiness. Phillips chose to include a whimsical sheep as the logo for her marketplace as sheep represent happiness, purity, benevolence, honesty, nobility and peace. These are things that Phillips hopes her art and handmade goods will offer to you.
